媽媽曾經給我講過這樣一個故事。在非洲，一隻羚羊每天早上醒來想到的第一件事是：「我必須跑得比最快的獅子還要快，否則就會被吃掉。」與此同時，一隻獅子從夢中醒來，想到的第一件事是：「我必須抓住跑得最慢的羚羊，否則就會餓死。」所以，羚羊和獅子幾乎同時起床，並開始向著太陽升起的地方奔跑。

我並未真正懂得競爭的內涵。直到參加英語口語競賽那天，我才真正弄清什麼是競爭。我踏上講台，看見其他學生很友善地看著我。突然間，我明白了競爭並不像老師和父母說的那樣殘酷。相反，它是善意的，也是必要的。
明白了這個道理後，我學會了很多，也更瞭解這個世界。競爭對每個人都很重要。
