Moreimportant,ahostofunemployedcitizensfacethegrimproblemofexistence,andanequallygreatnumbertoilwithlittlereturn.Onlyafoolishoptimistcandenythedarkrealitiesofthemoment.

Themoneychangershavefledfromtheirhighseatsinthetempleofourcivilization.Wemaynowrestorethattempletotheancienttruths.Themeasureoftherestorationliesintheextenttowhichweapplysocialvaluesmorenoblethanmeremonetaryprofit.
Happinessliesnotinthemerepossessionofmoney,itliesinthejoyofachievement,inthethrillofcreativeeffort.Thejoyandmoralstimulationofworknolongermustbeforgotteninthemadchaseofevanescentprofits.Thesedarkdayswillbeworthalltheycostusiftheyteachusthatourtruedestinyisnottobeministereduntobuttoministertoourselvesandtoourfellowmen.
